The Guys



Doug Henness is the inventor of the Big Stick™. The idea for the Big Stick™ came to him when he could not find anything that he felt was easy to use and would protect his expensive new boat purchase. Doug also wanted a product that would work on his utility trailer and recreational vehicle. He not only wanted protection, he wanted the Ultimate in Trailer Protection.

Since retiring from his CPA practice several years ago, Doug has been able to spend more time playing his favorite sport, baseball. His passion for the game led him to tryout for the Cincinnati Reds fantasy team. He has been with them for over 8 years. He often travels across the country for various baseball tournaments. This works well as he also has a love for the road and visiting the many wonderful sites across the US.

Ray Denison is Doug’s business partner. An avid motorcyclist and “motorhead,” Ray has spent many years in the automotive hobby scene. Ray also has a passion for vintage aviation. He loves to tinker with most anything mechanical and can often be found restoring motorcycles in his garage.

Professionally, Ray has been in the design industry for over 20 years. He has worked for several large US based companies and has designed everything from toys to Christmas ornaments, school & office products, retail merchandising, exhibits and more.

The Company

Formed to bring the Big Stick™ to market, the company name, How Do We Do It, LLC came as somewhat of a joke. It started several years ago when Doug, Ray and their wives were together. The wives were picking on them when Doug turned to Ray and asked “How Do We Do It?" That phrase caught on and is now used on a regular basis. So when the time came to form the company it was an easy decision. On a more serious note the name also reflects Doug and Ray’s faith and the philosophy that they operate by. They know being “nice and honest” guys comes from beyond the two of them. Being Christians and men of faith, they believe that this business endeavor is a calling and blessing. The name reminds them of how and why they do it. They feel they have a calling to bless it forward. Doug & Ray are often found sharing this belief.
